Chapter 446 - 419: Charging into the Enemy Horde
Chapter 446 - 419: Charging into the Enemy Horde
A black Magic Flying Carpet floated in mid-air.
Since Carlos’s current form was so large, and Ronin’s own Magic Flying Carpet couldn’t shrink, he had no choice but to ride with Sophia to avoid being detected.
Below them was Tars Town, the closest town in Moonlight Valley to Shore City. It served as a connection point on the border between Moonlight Valley and Wushan Territory. Because many merchants stopped here to rest, the town had developed quite well—a fact evident from the number of houses in the town center.
Ronin and Sophia both had the Wind Attribute and were both Magic Masters. Their Spiritual Power and the range of their Wind of Inquiry were immense, allowing them to perceive the situation below even from an altitude of five or six hundred meters.
The small town was already shrouded in a dark aura. Although there were still normal humans below, nearly eighty percent of the population had been turned into the Witch Soul Race.
"Just as I predicted, Moonlight Valley has fallen. And it looks like there are two fairly powerful individuals down there."
Ronin’s expression was grim. "It seems Jesus or Mephisto has already started setting up defenses. They might even be waiting for the right moment to launch an attack."
Sophia nodded lightly. "The Shadow Lord can use a Witch Soul Pearl to inject the Power of the Soul into a designated person, allowing them to advance one tier in strength. The two below were likely evolved from Golden Knights."
Back then, Ossen had absorbed the Power of the Soul from at least fifty thousand people to advance from the Meteor Level to the Silver Moon Level.
Although these two below were weaker, forcibly promoting them would still require the Power of the Soul from fifteen thousand people each.
In other words, these two had cost thirty thousand lives.
Rage burned in Ronin’s heart. ’No wonder they’re keeping the women and young girls alive. They’re using them as breeding stock to produce more humans!’
"The Shadow Lords have always done this."
Sophia knew a great deal about them, so she wasn’t surprised by this phenomenon. "To them, humans are like nutrients. They need humans to expand their ranks, but they also need to keep a certain number alive to reproduce, providing them with a continuous supply of sustenance."
Ronin took a deep breath and then slowly exhaled.
He took a piece of black cloth from his Space Ring and tied it over his face, obscuring his features.
"What are you planning to do?" Sophia asked in surprise.
"There are a lot of enemies down there, but with my power, I’m more than capable of killing those two. However, I have to hide my face, because Jesus is still under the protection of the Royal Family."
As he spoke, he activated Wind’s Wings, and a pair of translucent wings sprouted from his back.
Sophia reminded him, "If you get surrounded by the Witch Soul Race, their combined Witch Soul Power will corrupt the Heaven and Earth Elements, making it harder for a Mage to command Elemental Power."
Ronin smiled. "Combat Skills don’t require Elemental Power."
Sophia paused for a moment. ’That’s right,’ she thought, ’he’s not just a Magic Master, he’s also a Silver Moon Knight.’
"Then use this."
Sophia tossed him a small glass bottle. "Spread this on your face."
Ronin was a bit surprised but poured the liquid from the bottle into his hand and smeared it on his face anyway. He felt a burning sensation on his skin.
Sophia handed him a mirror. In it, Ronin’s appearance had changed. His handsome face was gone, replaced by that of a rough-looking man with a dark complexion.
Ronin looked from side to side in the reflection and said with a smile, "This stuff is pretty good!"
"It’s Disguise Water, a simple camouflage potion. The effect only lasts for an hour."
’An hour?’
Ronin looked toward the house in the center of the town, where the two powerful members of the Witch Soul Race were located.
WHOOSH!
His Wind’s Wings trembled slightly, and Ronin shot downward like a cannonball.
They say that whatever a person lacks, they tend to overcompensate for.
The same was true for the Witch Soul Race.
They couldn’t reproduce, and to cover up this deficiency, they were obsessed with the process of procreation. This led to the Witch Soul Race being lecherous as a whole.
This was true of Natalia and the others in the Mysterious Valley of Wubei Territory, and it was true of the ones here as well.
Inside the house, two Meteor Knights were viciously violating human women, venting their lust.
Suddenly, they stopped what they were doing.
"We’re under attack!"
The two of them quickly dodged to the side, grabbing the Knight’s Longswords and Shields they had tossed aside.
BOOM!
Ronin landed in the courtyard. The immense force of his arrival sent the Witch Soul Knight guards flying. He waved his hand and unleashed a Flame Slash, and his scorching Fighting Qi instantly incinerated several of them.
If he hadn’t sensed innocent people inside, Ronin would have used Magic to blast the house to pieces on his way down.
"Enemy attack!"
"Enemy attack!"
The survivors roared, and the surrounding Witch Soul Knights swarmed toward him like rabid dogs.
At that moment, the two from inside the house also came out.
Ronin was stunned for a moment, then let out a cold sneer. He hadn’t expected to run into two acquaintances here.
These two Meteor Level Witch Soul Knights were none other than Idrisa, the Leader of Jesus’s Second Knight Order, and Trip, the Leader of the Fourth Knight Order, both of whom he had met before in Shore City.
Ronin had already slain Ramsay and Angus, the Leaders of Jesus’s First and Third Knight Orders. He never thought he’d run into these two as well.
It looked like Ronin was fated to wipe out all of their Knight Order Leaders.
"Kill!"
Ronin took a step forward and activated Wind Instant Step, appearing before the two men in an instant and slashing with his sword.
Idrisa and Trip had clearly retained their combat experience. They weren’t sluggish at all; crossing their swords, they managed to block Ronin’s attack together.
But how could Meteor Knights who were forcibly promoted be a match for Ronin, who was at the peak of the Silver Moon Level? His immense power forced them back step after step.
Seizing the opportunity, Ronin twisted his longsword to break their joint block, then spun and slashed at Idrisa.
"No!"
Idrisa shrieked in terror, but the Flowing Flame Sword had already cut a long gash across his body. Although he didn’t bleed, the scorching Fighting Qi was corroding his form.
If the blow had been any deeper, it might have turned him to ash.
"Earth-Rock Flow!"
Trip violently thrust his longsword into the ground. The earth trembled as if it had come alive.
The dirt beneath Ronin’s feet turned to quicksand, no longer able to support him, and he began to sink.
’What an idiot. Can’t you see the wings on my back?’
The effect of his Wind’s Wings hadn’t faded yet. With a single leap, Ronin was in front of Trip.
The latter tried to pull his longsword from the ground, but Ronin’s Flowing Flame Sword had already pierced his heart.
As the Fighting Qi surged from the blade, cracks spread across Trip’s body. He threw his head back and roared, then exploded.
"One down!"
Ronin turned to face Idrisa, who was frantically trying to escape. "You’re next."
"Quick, stop him!"
"Swarm him!"
Idrisa roared madly. Mephisto had given him command authority, allowing him to order the Witch Soul Knights and the numerous cannon-fodder soldiers here.
The area was already heavily guarded, and now Ronin found himself surrounded by a horde of Witch Soul Knights.
They charged forward like rabid dogs, heedless of their own lives. If roars could kill, Ronin would have already been torn to shreds.
He took a moment to sense his surroundings. The Witch Soul Power blotted out the sky, and it was indeed affecting the Elemental Power of the Heaven and Earth around him.
However, this didn’t mean he was completely silenced and unable to use Magic. It just increased the difficulty of casting spells and the time it took for them to form.
"A Silver Moon Knight is said to be an army of one..."
Ronin tightened his grip on the Flowing Flame Sword.
He had never been one for charging in alone. This was mainly because he tended to overthink things and wasn’t much of a risk-taker—he valued his life.
But now that his power had grown, he wanted to experience the thrill of fighting ten thousand foes.
Ronin used his Fighting Qi to form a suit of Flame Armor, and holding his Flowing Flame Sword, he charged toward the surging Witch Soul Knights.
"Come on! Let’s see what my limits are!"
