Chapter 282 - 281: Uncle, Can’t You Recognize Me?
When Nathan Foster was out for his morning exercise, South Grant was still asleep. He thought he’d wake her when he returned from the workout, since she’d have exams in a couple of days and needed the rest!
However, by the time Nathan returned, the bed was already empty.
Nathan asked the guards outside, and found out South had left shortly after he’d gotten up.
Nathan remembered that South had promised him a romantic date today, and his expression wasn’t looking very pleased.
She broke that promise early in the morning, vanished without a trace; no wonder Nathan was in a foul mood.
Nathan picked up his phone, intending to ask South where she’d gone, when he saw her message on WeChat.
"Come to the backdoor after breakfast, I’ll be waiting for you there."
Just as Nathan finished reading the message, South sent another one.
"Remember to come by yourself, don’t bring anyone, and don’t drive."
South was being all mysterious, and Nathan had no idea what she was planning.
Nathan couldn’t even wait to have breakfast. He changed out of his workout clothes, put on something casual, and headed to the backdoor.
Ivan Keller wanted to follow him, but Nathan turned to Ivan and said:
"I’m giving you a day off today, no need to follow me."
Ivan was taken aback and then said, "Sir, if I’m not following you, what should I do today?"
Nathan halted, turned around to look at Ivan, giving him a once-over.
"Time for you to find a girlfriend."
With that, Nathan turned and left, leaving Ivan staring blankly after him.
Ivan watched Nathan leave with a delighted smile on his face, knowing he was off to see South. Could it be that Nathan was no longer single and felt the need to tease him for being a singleton?
Nathan went straight to the backdoor, looked around upon stepping out, but saw no one. About 50 meters away, a long-haired girl in a dress was sitting on a bench by the roadside, head down, playing with her phone, back facing him.
Besides this girl, there was no one else on the street.
Nathan stood at the door waiting for a while, but there was still no sign of South, and his mood soured. Was he being played once more?
Nathan took out his phone and texted South, "Where are you?"
Just after sending the text, the long-haired girl sitting on the bench stood up, slowly turned around, and looked at Nathan.
"Uncle, I’m here."
Nathan froze upon hearing "Uncle."
She stood there quietly, dressed in a pink outfit with her long hair tied in a bow at the back.
A white crossbody bag hung at her pleated skirt.
Her eyes twinkled like stars, and when she smiled, it was like there’s starlight shining.
She looked just like South, but not quite. Usually, South wore makeup that masked any semblance of femininity.
This outfit was a first for Nathan to see, leaving him stunned, unable to gather his thoughts.
Fiona Grant resembled him a lot, but when South dressed as a girl, there was a noticeable difference from Fiona.
South walked towards Nathan then, and when she reached him, she blinked and cheerily asked, "Uncle, can’t recognize me?"
Nathan then noticed her obviously padded chest, which was seriously out of line with reality, and couldn’t help raising an eyebrow.
"The hair, and what’s going on here?"
