Chapter 909 Where are the amazing teammates? (1)

Peter was dragged back to the Sanctum Sanctum by Strange, and as Strange gathered up the threads of fate, he said, "You—bring that bride—to the Sanctum Sanctum. I need to tell her all the details about the ceremony. I don't know if she has any magical talent, but it doesn't matter. The spells coming up are mainly rituals, and she can perform them even if she's not a mage; she can act as a medium."

Peter said "okay" and took out his phone to text Cindy. After sending the message, he asked Strange about something else: "Who do you think is most likely to participate on Malekith's side? Malekith or Loki? Or Surtur, who got the Eternal Flame?"

"So you think Doom invited one or two of them, which is why they went to steal?"

Strange heard this while he was still reeling in the lines, then paused for a moment before looking at Peter: "You're overlooking the simplest thing, Spider-Man, which is that Doom doesn't actually know several of these people at all, including Malekith and Surtur. He has absolutely no idea who they are. Although I don't know Doom either, I don't think a notorious tyrant would choose people he considers uncontrollable."

Peter thought for a moment before realizing, "You mean, Doom will choose Loki?"

"I don't know, but what I do know is that Doom would definitely not choose people he can't control, much less people he knows nothing about. And just like you, Doom certainly wouldn't think that those with high combat power are suitable; he would assemble a team that is as flawless as possible."

"Alright, go do what you need to do. I'll let you know when the conditions for casting the spell are met." After saying that, Strange shooed Peter out, then took out his phone and made a call.

Doom hung up the satellite phone and turned to look at the ritual circle drawn on the ground. During this time, all sorts of scumbags had been contacting him in an endless stream, to an astonishing degree. Almost everyone was eager for the opportunity to "fulfill a wish" from the Transcendent.

"It's laughable that some unknown being would utter such baseless claims, and these idiots actually believed it. These idiots have absolutely no idea what Doom is like—though some people are a different story."

As Doom spoke, he picked up three photos: Loki, the Norse god of mischief, and Arnim Zola, the science director of Hydra. These two, though ambitious and scheming, immediately agreed to join Doom's team. Meanwhile, Magneto, currently focused on cultivating his public image, naturally wouldn't choose to collude with Doom.

However, Doom told Magneto that he only intended to gather six people to enter the Arena. Once inside, they could go their separate ways and do whatever they wanted. He chose Magneto because Magneto was the most trustworthy among the group. Furthermore, Tony Stark would definitely not choose Magneto; he would trust Charles Xavier more.

All that's needed is to prove the Avengers don't believe Magneto, and Magneto joining them would be a perfectly normal thing. Once they enter the Arena, Magneto will be easy to control.

So, four out of the six had been found. Doom gave Namor a call, but the proud King of Atlantis wasn't ready to join yet, even arrogantly declaring that he would accept Tony Stark's invitation. Doom could only chuckle at this. No problem, when the time came, Namor would realize the Avengers hadn't called him at all, and he'd come running himself.

And the last one —

"The Beyonder may be incredibly powerful, but he is by no means omniscient or omnipotent; at least, he can only be omniscient and omnipotent within his own world. For a powerful being to forcibly traverse worlds, especially since our world has strong barriers to reality, such a powerful being traversing the multiverse would create a butterfly effect that even the Beyonder himself is unaware of—but Doom knows it."

Mephisto even considered using Doom's mother's soul as a bargaining chip for a chance to go to the Battle Realm, but unfortunately, Doom trusted Mephisto the least. If you're going to do this, please get out of Universe 616 and find some idiot from another universe.

What? You're asking me how you're going to get back to Earth 616? What's that to me?

As a spell coalesced, coalescing into a powerful illusion, Doom finally saw what he desired. Nearly a month prior, before the crisis involving Ultron erupted, the Beyonder had already arrived in this world, and at that very moment, the Beyonder's domain created a tiny hole in the universe.

This tiny hole was drilled right into a nuclear power plant reactor, triggering a nuclear leak accident whose details remain unknown to this day—it would never have gone unnoticed if the Ultimate Team hadn't intervened in time.

All the reactor maintenance personnel died in the subsequent rescue efforts; only the reactor engineers survived.

A mortal closely connected to the Beyonders, a key figure in realizing the Doom Project.

"Very good, this is the person Doom is looking for."

Doom turned and left, opening a dark green portal that transported him to a hospital in Texas. He then opened the portal directly into the intensive care unit. The medical staff, however, immediately forgot about the ICU and left.

"Doom knows you are fully conscious, Owen Reese. You can hear me, and you can respond in your mind. Now, Doom is here to tell you that the accident that turned you into this was not an accident, but the work of someone else."

"That guy plans to turn the universe into his playground, treating Doom like a gladiator. Hah, Doom isn't going to be manipulated, and you, Owen Reese, you're closely connected to him; you're the key to pulling him down from his pedestal."

Doom looked at the man in the ICU, who was covered in tubes and wrapped up tightly, and asked, "Now, Doom is generously offering you a plan: work with Doom to destroy this so-called god. In return, Doom will pull you back from the brink of death and unlock your abilities. Do you agree?"

The other person remained silent for a while, then Doom saw that this person, who was almost paralyzed and unable to move due to radiation complications, actually nodded with difficulty. He smiled with satisfaction.

"Very good, Owen Reese, Doom believes you will become a very good friend."
