Chapter 25 The Leader
Chapter 25 The Leader
Chapter 25 The Leader
"No! Why is this happening!"
The plant expert could hardly believe it. He grabbed the puddle of green slime and, in a fit of rage, threw it against the wall, making it look like a giant green snot.
"Project outcome: failure." Professor Goldbloom scribbled on his draft paper: "Target dead."
"Why is this happening?" The plant master turned his gaze to him, and even though he had a wooden face, one could still see how furious he was: "He's a fraud! He didn't even try!"
Professor Goldbloom, his green eyes gleaming, stared blankly at the botanical expert's accusations.
The Botanist quickly turned his anger towards Poison Ivy: "Your hypnotic kiss doesn't work at all!"
Ivy sighed. "Calm down, Jason! He's still under our control."
She turned to the professor and said, "Harold, tell us what caused this?"
Professor Goldbloom's eyes flashed with a green light before he replied, "It's a very complex azeotropic mixture. The virus conversion formula works well, but it's just theory. There are almost millions of variables that can cause the process to fail."
"Then let's guess, meat bun!"
"Well, speculation isn't scientifically sound," Professor Goldbloom adjusted his glasses. "But I suspect it's related to something we've been using. The old swamp water we're using for our experiments comes from the Slaughter Swamp, which won't do. What we need are legitimate biological nutrients and chemicals, water from legitimate sources—places that can create swamp monsters—"
"The Waynewett Swamp in Louisiana."
"Oh my God, my butt hurts," Poison Ivy said.
"No, Pamela, haven't you noticed? It's perfect."
"The plant expert said, his eyes gleaming with fervor," the plant master said.
"This river flows directly into the Gulf of Mexico, and the water in the Gulf of Mexico can carry the virus to the Atlantic Ocean, and then to the whole world."
He turned around: "Those corrupt, death-filled monsters can never destroy the green of all things, and the powerless and filthy red of all beings will utterly submit to our feet."
"Even without the swamp monsters' help, we can drive those filthy things back to where they belong, and this planet will be protected by the great green!"
He circled it on the map: "The plan to save Mother Earth will begin here."
……
……
……
The Deadshot doesn't care who the team leader is.
Ever since his daughter was promised that university admission letter, he's been acting like he's giving up. No matter what the employer says, I just say "yes!"
Since you have money, whatever you say goes.
So he said, "Okay, then..."
"Employer, I don't think we need a so-called team leader..."
Count Dizziness was interrupted by his employer's voice coming from the tape recorder before he could finish speaking.
"You can make a decision after you've met this tour leader, and he'll be in this room soon."
The tape recorder's sound became even hoarser, mixed with some metallic harshness, as if it were being interfered with by some electromagnetic field, emitting a low, hoarse groan.
"And I think once you've actually met this team leader, you'll never object to him taking the position, because I think he's someone you all know very well, a true old friend."
Deathshooter had an unsettling feeling. He didn't know where it came from; he just felt a chill run down his spine, as if he were being watched by something that wasn't human.
Ms. Vick looked at the Cheshire Cat with a puzzled expression, opened her mouth as if to ask something, but faced with that calm, smiling mask, she ultimately kept her mouth shut.
The Cheshire Cat seemed completely oblivious to their conversation, her eyes fixed on the dog in the welder's hand.
The dog welder gave her a "want to pet it?" gesture, so she happily went to pet the dead dog.
Boom boom boom!
There was a knock on the door, and Deathshooter stood up, his unease growing stronger.
There's something outside the door.
"Please come in!"
"Dizzy Earl shouted."
A thrilling sense of danger washed over him, and he felt the hairs on his body stand on end.
Ms. Vic also stood up.
"I'm coming in."
clack.
First, there was a shoe.
A special onesie shoe worn with a tight-fitting bodysuit.
Next came gray leggings, a pure black cape, pointed ears, and a mask.
"Batman!"
Deadshot jumped up from beside the table, but Batman's movement prevented the bullet from leaving his gun.
He saw Batman holding a walkie-talkie and said, "I already told you, I've arranged a leader with enough influence and power for you. You'll like this leader."
Deadshot saw Batman's pointed ears pointing directly at him, and Batman's voice was playing synchronously from the tape recorder on the table, layer upon layer, like a nightmare echoing in a dark well.
He heard Batman say, "Because the leader is me."
Chen Tao had considered whether he should reveal his true identity as the behind-the-scenes employer at this time.
He could have remained quietly behind the scenes, just like before, becoming a beautiful mastermind—and then what?
The soldiers have no will to fight; they only want to flee. They are completely disorganized and lack any coordination. They disobey orders and attack indiscriminately?
It must be admitted that the current Suicide Squad lacks a strong leader, a core member who can unite everyone.
In the original story, the leader of the Suicide Squad was Rick Flag, who won over these unruly mercenaries with his noble character and led them to complete one mission after another.
But Chen Tao didn't have a leader like Captain Rick under his command.
Deadshot undoubtedly possesses this talent; in the history of the Suicide Squad, he holds the record for the most times he served as captain, second only to Rick. However, he is now merely a lone wolf, not the leader who has honed his skills within the Suicide Squad for years.
Nightwing is also a possibility. As the original Robin, he wasn't used to fighting alone like Batman. When he was Robin, he had experience leading the Titans.
However, according to Alfred's intelligence, Dick and his Titan squad were currently locked in a fierce battle with Deathstroke, which was why Chen Tao was unable to recall Nightwing or hire Deathstroke.
Chen Tao didn't want the fight between the two sides to suddenly turn into a conversation where someone tells them: "Batman is looking for you" or "An employer is looking for you."
So they dropped what they were doing to take on the mission, only to be shocked to find that their enemies had become their teammates.
therefore……
Moreover, Chen Tao can now transform into a giant dinosaur, so he has basic combat abilities. He can also transform into a bat-shaped vehicle. Even if he can't win a fight, he can definitely escape faster than others when he's in a car, which is enough.
In any case, his life safety is at least guaranteed. If he still doesn't dare to go to the scene in person, that's not just being cowardly, it's being a coward.
Chen Tao walked into the room, his gaze sweeping over the four people inside.
Death Shooter, Count Dizziness, Cheshire Cat, hmm, everyone's here.
and many more.
?
Chen Tao stared intently at the man welding the dog: "Who are you? Isn't my employee a mad dog?"
