Chapter 1206: Not Even Allowed to Have Fun During the New Year

Michael Linton had just heard it clearly when Athena Linton told Callix Linton and Amelia Linton "see you tomorrow," which made him instantly realize she was planning to be out all night. That was something he absolutely could not allow. "Where exactly are you going to hang out? What time are you coming back?"

His thinking was still fairly traditional; he believed that girls absolutely should not be spending the night outside casually.

"I already made plans with my friends, we’re pulling an all-nighter tonight." Athena spoke cautiously; if she hadn’t seen her grandpa sitting right there, she wouldn’t even have dared say that out loud.

"No way!"

Before Michael Linton even had time to open his mouth, Serena Zimmerman had already spoken up, loudly and firmly throwing out those two words: no way.

He glanced at his wife who’d jumped in ahead of him, then lifted his wrist to check the time before finally looking up at Athena. "You have to be home by eleven‑thirty at the latest."

Eleven‑thirty was already the latest time he could accept, and that was only because tonight was New Year’s Eve; otherwise she wouldn’t even be allowed to go out now.

"Eleven‑thirty?!" Athena picked up her phone and checked the time, then started bargaining with her dad. "It’s already ten‑forty. I barely get to go out for an hour before I have to come back. Other people’s parents all let them stay out all night."

So how come you just can’t agree? You’re such a fossil.

That last sentence she only dared to say in her heart; to say it out loud, she’d need a few more years of cultivation.

"Other people’s parents are other people’s parents, but your parents don’t agree." On this point, Michael Linton was not up for negotiation at all. He had no say over other people’s kids, but he had to be responsible for his own; he couldn’t just let her run wild.

Athena knew her dad would say that. As for her mom, she couldn’t count on her either. Her gaze shifted, and she turned to Callix Linton. "Grandpa! I want to go out and have fun."

Her face was full of expectation, and her eyes were brimming with it even more; she was hoping her grandpa would back her up.

"If you want to go out and have fun, then go. It’s not like your parents aren’t letting you go out at all. You just have to remember to be home by eleven‑thirty, that’s all." Sitting right there, Callix had seen exactly how things had just played out. When Athena turned to him, he knew perfectly well what she meant.

His son and daughter‑in‑law both disagreed with her staying out all night. As her grandpa, could he agree? The answer was obviously no.

She’d thought she could get support from Grandpa, but the result left Athena very disappointed. Hearing what he said, the expectation in her eyes was instantly replaced by disappointment.

If she couldn’t get a "charge‑up" from Grandpa, there was even less chance of getting support from her aunt.

Athena skipped right over Amelia Linton and looked at Easton Holmes and Lily Turner. "Cousin! Goddess‑sis! You—"

"If you keep wasting time yakking here, you won’t even get half an hour of fun." The moment Athena looked over, Easton Holmes already knew what she was after. Once she started talking, he didn’t wait for her to finish before bluntly cutting in.

Come on, when even her uncle and aunt wouldn’t agree, how could he, as her cousin, just casually say yes?

With even Easton Holmes being a dead end, Athena suddenly felt this New Year’s Eve had lost all its fun. After glancing sullenly around at everyone, she finally fixed her gaze on Michael Linton. "On New Year’s of all times you won’t even let me have some fun—what kind of parent are you? Hmph!"

She gave her dad an angry little snort, then immediately turned and left the living room. But instead of heading for the front door, she stormed upstairs in a huff.
